Sony will be showcasing its extensive range of filmmaking technology, from image and file workflows to on-set and post-production monitoring, including the latest addition to its line-up, the VENICE 2 and VENICE Extension System 2. The VENICE 2 built upon the strength of the original VENICE with new features including a compact design, internal recording and the option for two different sensors: the newly developed full-frame 8.6K sensor or the original 6K VENICE sensor. The VENICE 2 also inherits popular features from the original VENICE including colour science, Dual Base ISO and 8-stops of built-in ND filters.
The VENICE Extension System 2 is a camera accessory designed for added mobility and versatility in live production environments. The system features a separate sensor block from the camera body, allowing for greater flexibility in camera placement. The extension system is compatible with both VENICE and VENICE 2 and supports 6K and 8K sensors. The system can extend up to 12 meters without a repeater box, making it ideal for use in large-scale productions.
In addition to the VENICE 2 Sony will exhibit its full CinemaLine range catering for every filmmaker whatever their budget or application. Visitors will be able to experience the PXW-FX9, the popular FX6, the compact FX3 and FX30 plus a selection of Alpha lenses to try out.
Among CinemaLine range Sony will showcase FR7, the world’s first PTZ camera to combine a full-frame image sensor, lens interchangeability, and remote shooting functionality. The FR7 features a back-illuminated 35mm full-frame CMOS image sensor Exmor R™ with approximately 10.3 effective megapixels and wide 15+ stop latitude. Since its launch FR7 has been widely used for cine and live applications.
Other key elements of the production workflow will be on hand with the state-of-the-art BVM-X310 postproduction monitor and the 4K HDR PVM-X series of on-set monitors.
In addition to our range of filmmaking tools, we will present Ci, cloud-based solution for better collaboration and more creativity. Ci media platform can act as the cloud-based hub for on set work, with the tools for fast file transfers, transcoding, media management and archiving. Collaboration is easier too, with apps that allow to review and comment on projects as a team—even when team members are different locations. They can watch the latest version of work together, live, through synchronised playback.
